Thanks very much. Yeah I agree that the movie wasn't all it could have been. Oh well...

I had heard of a new series coming so I've been keeping my fingers crossed. Time will tell I guess.

Must disagree with this and sorry to go off topic. I've read a lot of reviews that say the same thing from reviewers who clearly pined for a movie that would have mimicked the old show in every way. But we already have the old show for that on DVD and free on youtube last I checked. As a father who was just introducing his then 8 year old to the Thunderbirds when the live action movie came out I can tell you that the reaction my son had to it was everytHing I could have wished for and more and the message behind the so-called "kiddie" sub-plot made a very positive impression on my young boy, who has never stopped sharing his love or aircraft with me and is now moving into advanced engineering and math classes and has dreams of designing planes and cars, bridges and buildings while his poor old dad makes due with paper planes. F.A.B.

Looking forward to building from your plans! What do I need to be able to open an RAR file?

Oh I agree with that. The kiddy appeal is great! All three of my kids love the movie. It was my son who prompted me to design these models of the craft.

But the frustrated/spoiled brat aspect of young Alan brought the joy level down a bit for me. Other than that I liked it. Visually it was a nice film to watch. You could even see Frakes' Star Trek influence too which I thought was FAB.

You need a software like "WinRAR" to open a RAR file. It's just like a ZIP compressed folder. Inside is a PDO.

Looking forward to finishing Thunderbird 3 so I can go back and get Thunderbird 1 done.

If you look at the way Pixar Studios make movies, very mature story lines that people of all ages can enjoy, never mind the subtle jokes that only the older crowd will laugh at. Trying to make a movie/series that appeals to all ages is extremely difficult, however it can be done.

If a "new" Thunderbirds can be made in that mold, it will be a success.

Fair enough, good points both of you! I would only add that to me the spoiled Alan thing actually felt like an improvement for two reasons. First, it provided at least one of the Tracy boys with a distinguishing personality, whereas on the show the only thing that really defines each son is the vehicle they pilot. Second the plot and Alan's journey as a character taught a positive lesson. And yeah, I agree Frakes' fingerprints were very noticeable to me, a life long trekkie, as you can no doubt surmise from my avatar

Thanks for the info on RAR. I'll have to download a file extraction utility and check out your work.

The very best (for me) is 7Zip. Opens every type of compressed file as far as I know, is free and open source.

7-Zip

Agreed! Not only can you use 7-Zip to pack and unpack .zip and .rar files
but it also handles 7-zip compression which is even better for smaller file size.

Will it work? will it not?!

An all new Thunderbirds for 2015.

I've seen the set for Tracy Island.
By a well known FX group.
Very cool looking.

Apparently the show will be a combined CGI and live action thing.
Which might help.

Some big names are voicing characters, like Rosamund Pike (Lady Penelope).

And 88 year old David Graham will be reprising his role as Parker.

Theres a bunch of new stuff on the Thunderbirds youtube channel.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtb...Wrvx1UrHF3i7PQ

But this pic is a little disconcerting.
Although, I can easily pick out Virgil and Scott!
So, the original series is not being ignored.
