Thunderbirds Are GO!

Firstly, this is the 2004 version.

You still reading? Good! I liked this movie, I thought it best not to take it too seriously and to try and NOT compare it to the original.

I know it was very "teeny" but I loved the new look for the Thunderbird vehicles themselves so thought I'd start doing the set. I don't know why, but I started with Thunderbird 2 first.

I can't seem to post links yet but figured I'd start the thread in readiness.

Very nice. I imagine there will be more than a few here that will like the Days of Thunder cars, too.

And the X-Jet

Thanks. I did have a thread over on the Zealot forum for the Days of Thunder cars. Then things got in the way and they got sidelined. I hope to make an interior for them eventually.

The X-Jet was one I had to do. I helped Claudio Dias texture the original one he/we did back in 2007. I just wanted to revisit it and do the 3D side of it too this time.

Sweet. I had much the same reaction to the new Thunderbirds movie, and to the new ships. Looking forward to seeing these develop.

At first i thought you might be referring to the new series?
"Thunderbirds Are Go"

But you are referring to the 2004 movie.
I wrote about this movie in an earlier thread.

Having grown up on Thunderbirds and all the other Anderson shows
(England 1959 - 1967)
this movie was my adulthood dream come true.
To see International rescue in action once more...and with new movie technology.

Unfortunately, like most, I was severly disappointed in the movie as a whole.
But I agree with you and others, that there were so many good things in it.

Yes
The vehicles were awesome.
I love the new designs...especially FAB 1
I can't wait to do a miniature FAB 1 model.

The sets, the costumes, all great.
The Hood was fantastic played by Ben Kingsley.
And I am sooooo in love with the new Lady P! Sophia Myles is fab!

If only they had dropped the "lets appeal to kids" idea.
Lose the child actors, the kiddy storyline, and had some faith in us adults.

I get the impression, when I watch the film,
that the filmmakers were scared about how the adults would react,
so they deliberately went for a saturday morning cartoon approach.

I find the original 1964 series more adult worthy.

Anyway, nice model (TB2)...lets see more.
