Annihilator battlemech

A month or so ago I completed this Annihlator battlemech, and I decided to finally put up a few poor photos. The original pictures were shot against an antique white wall, and looked terrible, so I textured the background with a stormy looking sky. They've now been upgraded from terrible to merely awful .

This Mech Warrior 3 kit was designed by Cantaris, and the zipped file contains a number of skins to choose from. My model sports the Arctic skin.

In the Battletech Universe, the Annihilator is a huge 100 ton Assault mech. It packs a devastating punch with an arsenal of 4 autocannons and 4 medium pulse lasers. Its twelve and a half tons of armor allows the mech to survive whatever fire is thrown at it, but that heavy armor slows it down considerably, making the Annihilator most effective in an urban environment where maneuverability is less important.

I reduced the mech from it's orignal 1/60 scale down to my preferred 1/80. It stands at 8 1/8 inches, making it the tallest mech in my collection. The build was straightforward. Everything fit fine with no problems to report. It isn't posable without major surgery, but I was able to coax it into a walking stance with just a few scalpel cuts.

I hated facing those back in the MW3 days.

Great looking build and great photos to match that too

Seems the type of mech/vehicle I like to play. It's like me big and slow

Looks good against the "photoshoped" background.

Thanks for the nice comments, gents. The photoshopped background is far better than generation 1 of these photos. Unfortunately I posted the orignal pictures over at the Mechwarrior3 forum before I made the changes.
