Yesterday was a bad day.

My computer crashed...after five years of work........ the HDD failed.
But it is not all. My relatively new (1.5 years) notebook did not switch on.
There is powersource gone or even worse...the notebook itself.

All technology is great - when it works.

Good luck on retrieving your data.
Had a hard drive go bad on me about a year ago and what a hassle. Only good thing it wasn't a crash, but slow and noisy; so was able to do a backup and lost very little.

Bad luck on losing a HDD.
I had one go bad and was able to restore the system to what it was the day before using a system image and back up. I back up every day.
