Building Martin Saenger's Starfighter - CrimsonLine

Hi, all!

This is my first paper model build, and I'm making the Buck Rogers Earth Directorate Starfighter, by Martin Saenger. I'm using Staples brand 65 lb. card stock.

I've finished the first sheet of parts, and am halfway through the second sheet. So far, it's all interior structure, I think, but this model seems to be VERY elegantly designed. Parts fit together very well, and the lines on the parts are very helpful in locating where parts should go.

My one concern is that it came with a three-page instruction manual, and there seems to be a big gap between page 1's instructions and page 2's.

Having not done this model, I can't help you, but things are looking good so far

Just noticed you are from IBM town. I got hired there three times and never got to work there.

Yep, I just arrived in Poughkeepsie 4 months ago. Came here for a job, myself - though not with IBM.

Well, if you get bored, it's a mere 27-hour drive to Kansas City. I don't recommend doing it straight through, though

Great to see another Thunderfighter come to life!

As for the instructions, don't worry, they are spot on and cover all parts of the kits (if you obey them carefully you won't end up with any left-over parts ).

BTW, Rhaven and I have built so many of these that I sometimes think that we are running a TF factory! Currently I am testing the parts for a new cockpit interior for the quad version.

I'm looking forward to seeing your progress!

Here's where I stand after a bit more than an hour's work today. I have to tell you, I was so excited when I got to piece 224 - the first exterior hull piece. Before that, it was all interior structure - which is cool enough, but THIS, this was what I would still see when the model is complete.

I think when I'm done with this model, I'm going to build one with the cockpit pieces designed by Revell-Fan and Rhaven Blaack...
