HALO Automatic handgun

The next build was decided by my grandson, who liked my Colt M-1911 Auto. This version is designed by rocketmantan, over at Deviant art. Halo - M6D Pistol Papercraft Replica by RocketmanTan on deviantART His model is very basic and if built as is, it will not stand up to constant handling. I built it up with heavy lamination and added more items to make it a little more realistic. The gun at this posting is finished and the next item to build, will be the magazine, bullets and some kind of display. here is a teaser as to where it is at and I will start the build thread soon

Looks like something a grandson should really enjoy. Looking forward to the build thread!

Thanks for looking in, My grandson keeps absconding the pistol and I have to keep track of it so I can continue the accessories.

To all who look in to this thread, keep in mind that this model is free and do not go to ALICE and pay for it. It is freely given to the community by rocketmantan RocketmanTan (Bryan Tan) on deviantART

So here is the first installment on the build thread. The beginning does not look like much but the changes to the model are apparent. I wanted this model to be able to withstand kid power. enjoy and see you all soon with more.

Will this one end up with moving parts?

I had to look at the template to follow along. I think I'm a little slow on the uptake today

Only the slide will work. the trigger is static and the Magazine will only have one bullet at top to simulate a loaded mag.

Thanks eatcrow, for your comment and looking in. The gun is finished, I only have to update the photos for uploading.

Here is another batch. As you can make out from the template/plans/diagrams. the upper and lower receivers have been cut apart and made into two separate build sections. That nose muzzle has a slight curve to it and the inside support had a notch cut into the bend before the skin was added. If this is not done, the muzzle nose will have a hard time staying in place. Enjoy and see you all soon with more. One item I did not circle in the photos, is that I cut away a section of the upper receiver to accommodate the Muzzle cover.

The gun is finished and my grandson wants it now, but I will make a stand for it for those of you who may want to display it.

Fantastic!

Looks fantastic SilverOxide. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your build photos. I've made a few guns like this in the past and am feeling like making another so this will be good inspiration.
