uhu02's Orion III

Starting a long journey in a wonderful world of tomorrow

I decided to start the build of the Orion III Space Shuttle from the movie "2001 a space odyssey". The model is UHU02's design and it's a true challenge.

I want to follow step by step the UHU02's instructions, first because they are very clear and useful and then I'd like to grab every secret from this master, trying to discover the process he follows designing his models. Here the first segments of the fuselage.

I'll try to be as precise as i can, but the precision of the design is outstanding from the first steps and every part fits together without problems

Windows

First the left side with some problem, cutting and folding such tiny parts

The result is not so bad, but improvable.

On the right side I doubled the uprights, not folded, then i cut them halfway, with a better result. Now I have to decide if redo the left one.

Right side (upper) better than left.

The cabine

Cut out the elements of the passengers cabine.

Glued the floor and side walls.

Cutting the seats, trying to fold and at the end all the strips of seats cut out.

More to follow.

Best, Nando

Beautiful start. I love this spaceship and as his usual, I'm sure UHU has done it up right.
Look forward to more of this build.

Great work so darn. I love Uhu02's attention to the interior detail, but I'm wondering how much of that will be visible once the model is done.

Thanks dhanners for your appreciation and I agree with you about the Uhu02's attention to details. About the visibility of the interiors, I'm feeling like the architect of a Pharaon that is painting colorful scenes on the tomb walls and is putting treasures that will be buried forever and no one will see them again.
I'm thinking to put some light inside. This could give some emphasis to the interiors. I'm waiting for the Billy's instructions about the LEDs, that could be useful.

Thanks again to all.
Best, Nando

PS: I apologize for my english

Nothing to apologize for Nando. Your English is fine; the message comes through perfectly clear.
