Thank you for your encouragement, Mr King. And the Alpha/Beta question seems resolved, although my Good Lady actually looked that up and it comes from software programing apparently - then there are Gamma versions and Omega versions and Trojans-oh, hang on, that's something else entirely....
Anyway, more updates tomorrow, I expect :-) Plumdragon |

Interesting to watch. I like the general shapes in your design. Well done.

This project is coming together beautifully!!! I have always liked watching someone design and build a model like this from scratch. For the longest time (this is well before I had discovered that there were others out there that did paper modeling as well), this is how I made my paper models. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

My Little Ship IV
Hello Friends The scans were transferred into Photoshop and I've been spending a little time doing the linework etc. And finding out that some pieces seem to bear little relation to others 'in the flat' although they looked perfectly alright on the model! C'es la Vie, and part of the fun Hopefully, by this time tomorrow, there may be a first draft white build model on the bench, probably covered with little inky notes....

Old School Designing
Mr Blaack, your encouragement is much appreciated I didn't get into this way of doing things until quite a way into my paper modeling experience; I now find it quicker sometimes to build something first, then dismantle it to tweak it in PS. (not sure what letter of the Greek alphabet that would be ) Here's a pic of my longstanding (and likely to never be finished!) Sepecat Jaguar GR1, which uses card templates for a spine and base, very similar to this little ship.

You are doing a GREAT JOB on designing this ship.
I use the same technique when I want to design something as well. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

My Little Ship V
A little more progress my Friends on this project, as the pics will hopefully show. I've been jumping ahead of myself and pondering textures and colours; I think this'll turn out a little different But as to work so far, I'm pleased with how things are going. As this was done right off a sketch, as opposed to an aircraft which would've had it's basic 'core' dimensions pre-set, it's been a lot of fun - make-it-up-as-we-go-along sort of fun

Part 2 of today's missive
It was optimistic of me to think I might've had it all put together this evening! But ensuring that each 'on the fly' alteration is covered, and that any adjoining/attaching pieces are scrutinised to see how they may be affected, certainly takes a little time That and having to go shopping, eat, feed the cats etc etc....
