I want to build one too :D Will you publish it?
ahh.... really, this time it could be almost impossible to publish it, because... well, this model is really a hybrid: I mean, there's paper, ok... but there's even a huge amount of "kitbashed" plastic and that's due to my (poor!) past in plastic scratchbuilding. when I decided to use paper instead of styrene, my mind gave birth to this ship, a sort of passage from a tecnique to the other. I think I could make available the paper structure but that would be, more or less, the 50% of the model. are you familiar with Rhinoceros 4.0?

thanx I'll answer both of you: I used normal paper covered with an adhesive clear plastic sheet (for the same reason of some lines before and that's why it doesn't seems paper) and the primer is a common gray spray paint. weathering will be added with a brush, I don't have any airbrush. that's way I'm interested in learnig how to put a texture on the model before printing it... less laborious and if the texture is good enough, the result would be great the same

painting progresses:

I applied a white paint layer over the primer (spray), like the original transport, even to the lower shields (sorry, the light sucks...). just one coat: it allows the model to keep a sort of transaparence for the gray underneath that mucks up that "once immacolated" white hull.

the contrast is good IMO. it needs a light touch of sandpaper (also because, when spaying, a little fly flew through the paint jet now there's a corpse stuck to the rear hull!!!)

I think the biggest part is done: now it's time to bring the brush and give some life to all the boxes and do some HEAVY weathering

hi folks
after a long brake I'm back on this ship and the end is approching very fastly. today I managed to complete all the containers and to attach them under the main hull. looking to the poor reference stuff found on internet, I couldn't get a good idea about the original support system for all those boxes, so I simply glued them together and directly to the hull... in a way, it's a maze

work just begun

in the middle...

et voilą

next step: weathering, weathering, weathering everything

Awesome! I wish you would post these pics on Starship Modeler. They'd get a kick out of seeing what paper can *really* accomplish given the time and care you've put into both this and the BFF-1 Bulk Freighter.
