Ditched the landing legs -- maybe I'll revisit the issue later -- and re-did the engine nacelles to include intakes and exhausts.
I printed out duplicate parts and cut out the intake and exhaust parts. Then I cut out the centers of those. That leaves you with four parts shaped like an Isosceles trapezoid. For the intakes, I glued a piece of fine mesh cut from a disposable paint strainer cone to the inside of the trapezoidal piece. I colored it black with a marker. Then I built trunking out of light gray cardstock. Although you can't really see it in the photo because of the mesh, there are two fan blade faces (taken from an airliner cardmodel) inside. I did the same for the exhaust, except I left off the mesh and used black cardstock that I drybrushed with a little white paint for the trunking. Once those components were all dry, I loaded up the Xacto knife with a new No. 11 blade and carefully cut out the existing intake and exhaust ends on each nacelle. Then I simply glued on the new faces. |

And the finished* model on a stand....
* "Finished" is a relative term, meaning the model is done until I figure out something else that I want to add. Last edited by dhanners; 05-29-2015 at 12:12 AM. |

Outstanding! I like what you did with the engines. With the different layers and modifications, I imagine that yours has a little more weight than those that I've done.
You should email Marcos a photo or a link to your build thread. He's always seemed to appreciate it when I've sent him photos.
