Mad Max War Rig

Hello friends,

A quick build to kick start the holliday season. This is the kit from Paper Replka and is up to the usual high standards from this site.
So, of to a good start with the chassis and engine cover. Pretty straight forward so far.

As this is a large model, I have added extra reinforcement from 1 and 2mm board to prevent any wobbly bits when finished.
I have also added seats and rudimentary details to both of the cab interiors to provide some interest in what would otherwise be empty compartments. These were fashioned from layers of 2mm board and painted with acrylics.

Stay tuned

Bernie.

Are you going to enlarge AirDave's Road of Fury Falcon to go with it?

I am fairly sure I have seen these things in real life when I lived in Glenrothes. Plenty of weird things on the back roads around there!

Best of luck with the build!

Never thought of that, must investigat
Getting the wheels out of the way. These were constructed with grey-board reinforcements and detailing........

........and went together rather well.

Still some wheel nuts to apply and lick of paint and almost done!

Good work Bernie! The wheels look great so far. Are you building this "out of the box" so to speak or will you be looking for ways to tweak and detail it?

Thanks Elliot. It's mostly out-of-the-box, with just some seats added in the cabin areas and some greebling to the wheels. I have built a few PR kits and have found that they benefit from extra strengthening, so I have added 1mm backing to the large slab-sided areas of the cab and engine cover.
