WH 40K Scylla tank

I present my first model from the Warhammer 40K game. I chose to build the Scylla tank because it had only 2 pages of parts, and I didn't want to tackle a more complex model right off the bat.

The fit of each and every part was perfect - these are really well designed models. Many parts (clearly marked with an *), have to be laminated to 1mm cardboard, so there is a lot of heavy duty cutting required. I went through quite a few razor blades, but I use the very cheap snap off variety, so this was no big deal.

The only departure from the stock build was the addition of a rolled tube on the back of the tank to hold the paper flag with plastic shaft. I did perform a bit of Photoshop work on the parts pages, but this would have built up into a fine model without my feeble efforts to personalize it. Ooops, I almost forgot the link to this and 256 other WH40K models: ??????? ?? ?????? Patoroch, Ksyta..

On to the pics!

Clean build.

And I must say it really looks the part - nice and solid and chunky!

Thanks for your comment, Kevin. I've recolored another one of these great kits, but haven't printed it yet. It's a Griffon mobile mortar. It's in my to do pile, and I'll get to it eventually.

Nicely done. I haven't done any of these models. My texture attempts have been rather lame, but the models that attract me are all white.

Nice build. I do like these models, they build well. So many to choose from though.

Thanks, fellas. Luckily for you, VK, nearly all the kits include both white and colored versions. There are a lot of them, and more are added all the time. With so many options, it can be difficult to make a choice.

Looks good from here Don. Y'all are right about there being so many to choose from, and they're all so tempting too.
