Beta-test build ( Normandy SR2 ) details added to the fuselage

Now at last the small final details to finish off the fuselage. I start with part 3 on page 9. On picture 1 through to picture 4, you will see where these black boxes get glued underneath the cargo bay. Also if you look at picture 2 there is an small box outlining for part 3 to glue underneath the cargo bay.

Next on picture 5 through to picture 10 is the build process for the front nose scoop. As you can see on picture 8 & 9 i'm using push pins to hold the front nose in place while the glue dries on the front nose hull. This is my method & only way to hold these nose scoop in place.

Lastly is the front top antenna & the front side entrance door on the hull. You can see it on the last picture 11 & 12. Note : for the front side entrance door i used a very small pin on the back & glued it to the door, then i pushed the small pin on the side of the wall where the door is mounted. I can now slide the door left to right to create a open / close sequence. We have completed the fuselage.

Here comes the exciting part, the next build stage of the complete right side Wing / Engine.

Stay tune.....

Why is there a white band behind the nose section (the section you mounted the antenna and door on)? Did you lose a piece of skin?

Steve

Steve
The texture is fine on the nose section where the door & antenna is mounted. It's just my A4 printer, the cartridge has just ran low on the black. Which caused a color fade in the texture skin when i first started the Normandy build. so I'm going to reprint that section & just glue another skin over the top of it. Should be an easy fix. I'm glad you notice that nose section with texture color fade, as i forget to mention it in the post.

Beta-test build ( Normandy SR2 ) display stand

Wow time flies very fast & it's coming close to Christmas. Before i get into showing off the right side wing / engine stage. I will start showing the picture of the display stand. As you can see in the 2nd picture i begin with the middle beam structure. I had to laminate both the middle beam & lower stand base to 5mm card stock to give it strength. Next it's straight forward , very easy to assemble. On picture 3 , 4 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 you will see the complete assembly.

Also I've added a feature to the Normandy stand. If you look at picture 5 you will see that i added a strong magnetic on top of the stand & install a strong magnetic on the fuselage, inside the cargo bay area this will help stop the Normandy ship from sliding off or falling off the stand. It works very well.

( Feedback : I absolutely like the design of the display stand, it blends in well with the Normandy SR2 & very strong to hold it in place. Awesome design Steve ( sjsquirrel )

Next stay tune for the complete right wing / engine assembly.

Beta-test build ( Normandy SR2 ) right side wing / engine

Here is where I'm up to on the right side wing / engine. I thought of starting on the right side wing / engine, as the last two pages of 23 & 24 that did not have any parts numbers & still getting cleaned up from the designer Steve ( sjsquirrel ). I have taken references / parts listing from the left side wing / engine on page 13 to page 18, so that i don't get lost in assembling the right side. As you can see i am still finishing off the engine, but it's close to completion.

As for the left side wing / engine, i will take photo of every build stage. Since that it has all the parts numbers & i have build the right side wing / engine, i can give as much info & pictures for everyone that build's Steve Normandy SR2.

Still more to come on the right side wing / engine build stage. Stay tuned.

Hi liger

As far as i know, the largest Normandy SR1 is the 4" which you already have. If i do come across a bigger SR1, i will let you know.

My Normandy SR1 that i am working on will finish off at 55" which should be the largest SR1 around, but i still have to calculate & get the length distance right to my Normandy SR2.

Beta-test build ( Normandy SR2 ) right side Wing / Engine Update

I'm back, i thought to show off on the right side Wing / Engine mounted to the fuselage. Before getting into the build stage, due to running out on craft glue & ordering some more through art store online. Here are some of the shot I've taken with the Wing & Engine mount on the right side of the fuselage.

Note : You will notice two mounted C slit shape on the end of the Wing. This is the designer ( sjsquirrel ) method to fully secure the wing into place on the fuselage. It will give a better downward angle & strength to the Wing. I would also recommend gluing the Wing to the fuselage, for better bonding. As leaving it without glue will eventually make the area weak on the mount, forcing downward on the wing / engine. Due to weight.

Stay tune for more test build update, of the Wing / Engine.
