Beta-test build ( Normandy SR2 ) Jumping into mass relay of wing / engine build. Lol

Hey everybody,

I have return back for new updates on the test build of sjsquirrel Normandy SR2 ship.

Test build stage of wing & engine : Page 13

I start laminating the wing ribs on a 2mm thick card with an extra .5mm, making the thickness to 2.5mm for the wing. You can see on the first picture.
Next is cutting out the ribs & laying out the parts in order but before assembly of the ribs if you take a look at the 3rd picture from the first row you will see two parts, rib spar 5 & rib spar 3. notice that rib spar 3 has a slit but rib spar 5 hasn't have a slit. This has to be corrected, so i had to cut a slit out on rib spar 5 & correspond with rib spar 3. (Note this has already been updated & fixed of this error by sjsquirrel).

Moving along to the next stage is the assembly, firstly pretest all your parts before gluing them, to make sure they are correctly in the right place. You will see it on the 4th picture. Now i'm getting ready to apply the first skin but before i can glue down the skin, i had to cut through the skin for the rib spar 3 & 5 to slide into place. You can see it on picture 6, Now i can apply the glue from underneath the ribs. Lastly i glued the last skin to complete the first section of the wing. Hope you enjoyed the first build stage. : )

Next to come is the engine to the wing...

Thanks F131

I've been having a break from paper model , as one of my family member has not long to live from brain tumor & now he is in a nursing home.

But hopefully I should get back in the build stage soon. : )

Coming back, finishing test build... ( Normandy SR2 )

Hey everybody,

It's been awhile since I have posted here but life sometimes hold us back from hobby. With work / moving ect... but now looking back missing all of the fun building models, I need to finish off a good friend of mine ( sjsquirrel ) Normandy SR2 ship.

There was a delay on building the wing, which I had to contact ( sjsquirrel ) for help & thankfully he was there to guide me with some references of the part. Thank you. Steve.

Stay tune with new post of the test build. As I have loads of photo to go through... : )
