EAS Agincourt

Been going through a major building drought of late. Just haven't been inspired to build anything. But a couple of weeks ago, there was a "Babylon 5" movie on cable so I got inspired to build something from the B5 universe.

This is a largely scratchbuilt model of a (non-canon) light cruiser based on the Omega-class destroyer. For the forward, midship and engine sections, I used Jaybats' Agememnon card model, but they were reduced to 75 percent and heavily modified. I used Jaybats' engine parts as templates to make my own pieces out of metallic paper. (I simplified the plumbing, too; why have all that exposed plumbing on a warship?)

Most everything else is scratchbuilt.

The finished model is 11.75 inches (29.8 cm) long. Years ago when I built the Agememnon, I thought I had figured out its scale, but I think I miscalculated. The Omega-class ship is supposed to be 1,714 meters long, and this is shortened version of it without one of the midship sections and the rotating section. It does, however, have the "Ferris wheel" so crew members can simulate gravity for part of the day.

Since I'm posting on my iPad, I can only do one photo at a time....

A correction from my first post: Jaybats' original Agememnon was 1/2871 scale, so this would be 1/3828 scale. The "real" ship would be 3,748 feet (1,142.4 meters) long.

Good job on your conversion of the Agamemnon.
