After talking is over with my banker(aka wife)I now have the model and as soon as I finish a bird or her I will start this X-Wing. And yes it's a big sucker. This will blow my sons mind for sure. I'm not going to say a word to him until it is complete. Thank you Rick and have a Safe and Happy New Year. wc

Hello Rick, I've been busy work on the X-Wing. She will be a great gift for my son and his fiancé bought the Millennium Falcon kit you showed. How did you glue the body sections together on the X-Wing? What did you use to hold each section to the next one so the edges were correct and all sides lined up while the glue dries? I've tried Blue masking tape and so far when I peel the tape away it hasn't taking any of the paint with it. Is there a better way or should I ask how did you do it. Trying my best not making any mistakes but that easier said then done. Any thought about stuffing some of the sections with cotton or what ever to keep it's shape better? Not sure about the other masking tapes. There is a green and a another color I think.Thank you Rick for your help. wc

John,

In my first and second post, at the top of the page,I have a couple of pictures showing what I did, I kept certain parts unglued until I was ready to assemble the fuselage pieces, this way I could ensure a tight fit, and still get my fingers or a clamp or two into the model to hold the parts until it was dry.
