Early Romulan BoP

Moving this thread (the condensed version) over here from that other place.

Ive started a little design project. This particular ship as far as I can find has never been the subject of a cardmodel. Since I have absolutely no clue at this point how to use 3d modeling software this is hand drawn then scanned and redone in photoshop (the test nacelle shown here was done in MS paint actually then I had to go back to it in photoshop to pretty it up and texture it) It actually went nearly flawlessly build wise just had to go back and make a few lines line up. apologies for the crappy pics, my camera batt is dead so I had to use the old camera and it doesnt do so good. The working scale right now is 1:920 just because thats the scale of the printouts Im working from, What scales would you guys like me to release this in? (Im already planning on a 1:1000 and a 1:1700) of course Im a long way from that yet :D.

And here's the cleaned up and textured pattern.

Ok the pylon/wing is done so thats that and the nacelles in the bag except for some minor texture refinements.

Ok need to tweak the deck sides below the bridge a bit and also where the pylons join the main hull then on to designing the ventral surface.

Ok two minor snags and a major one, all ahving to do with the ventrtal surface of the hull. First was a little trimming the sides of the Y shaped piece to make it meet the edges properly.

Next the side piece for the scooped out area aft needs to be thicker at the middle.

And now the big one!

Anyway I went ahead and put it on then trimmed it to size so I can use the hull lines as reference to modify the parts later. Now to see how the revisions to the sides of the upper decks worked out. Im going to go ahead and do the entire build trimming as needed as I go, then do all the fixes at once. Need to crash soon though, havent slept since night before last .

ok heres my hull. Everything I had to do to it to make it work has been incorporated back into the parts sheets. except one thing I still want to change on the lower bridge deck. Instead of the 45 degree slope I have now at the end Im going to change that deck to a much gentler taper down to the back. I think it will make the fin look a bunch better.

Ok have been kind of busy but finally finished my build! I will tab it up tomorrow evening and get it up this weekend I hope. After that I'll probably go back to building for a while until i think of another ship I absolutely MUST have in my fleet that somebody else hasn't modeled yet.

Actually, I just made a new PM scale cube along with a 5x5x1cm and a 5x1x1cm boxes, using the logo we now see in the upper corner. I'll upload shortly (nice to have variation, and I know I use the 5x5x1 more often than the cube with my small parts).
