BB 8 (Star Wars)

I had a little time and wanted to build a small model. After browsing the net I stumbled across this BB 8 model, which I like because of the geometry.

The main body ball is made up of these two shapes.



I decided to lose the tabs and underglue all the parts.


Then these parts are combined to form the body of BB 8.


And the back view ...


The head was very challenging esp the sensor eyes and antenna.




I did not glue the antenna onto the surface but cut some slots and glued from the inside.


Combine everything and ... voila: BB 8!






I could not resist to photoshop the little guy into action ...

Thanks for sharing this! If I counted correctly there are five different color schemes. If you mix and match them as if they came from a junk recycler there would be lots of combinations!

The build as shown in the instructions is fairly easy.

The way I did it it also not that complicated. It just takes a little longer with all the little tabs you have to make yourself.
