Well thank you guys. I'll clean a few bits up and put both sizes in downloads soon.
Bear in mind that I am NOT a designer. Well, I am an engineer, but this is my first attempt at drawing a card model from 3-views. I have kit-bashed a few over the years to create stuff I like (Note that Currell's V1 fuselage turned end-for-end makes a great starting point for the MARS1 rocket from 'Flight to Mars', 'World Without End', 'Queen of Outer Space', and the other flicks the same model was used in). At any rate, I'm happy enough with my 'Galileo' results to share now.

I am also currently working on plans for the other illustrated moon ship from the book 'Rocket Ship Galileo'...that is the German ship 'Wotan'. The book has sufficient text info and one woodcut illustration....so far it looks good....larger than Galileo.

BUT, The next build will be my second model creation attempt; the 'Terra V Mk1' from Space Patrol. Buzz Corry and Cadet Happy's primary ship. It is the first version of the 'Terra V'. The short one from the early 1950s. Probably start building that this weekend.

I would love to build and add your spaceships to my modest collection on my website (- Zeist Bouwplaten - Import, verkoop, ontwerp en productie van papieren schaalmodellen, maquettes en bouwplaten (cardmodels), Modelbouw, Rietveld cutoutmodels, page Early SF). Any chance of a download?

We would be pleased to host the Galileo in the Downloads section. You just need to pay careful attention to the instructions and prompts when uploading your model.

Good to hear. And it is not as difficult as it looks.
But honour where it is due: Jason Sutton is the designer - he gave me permission to finish and simplify the construction and instructions, then to publish it.

I think I uploaded the Rocket Ship Galileo model PDF sheets. Hopefully.
There is only 1 sheet of parts, sheet 2 is the stand base and photo of 2nd test build.
No instructions....it is a small model without formers....easy stuff.

I was planning on starting to build the Space Patrol Terra V battle cruiser....but got side tracked when I started working on plans for the Terra IV ship instead. Terra IV is just more interesting looking than the standard guppy-shape of Terra V. A bit more colorful also. Once I loaded the 'Space Patrol font package, it was all good!

This is great. I read RSG not that long ago and it was fun. Always neat to revisit vintage sci-fi. Great job!

I took the liberty to add a metal finish to this model and add some hi-lights:

I've never seen this craft before.
I must get this book.

Read a few Heinleins, but I'm no expurt.

Model looks great though.
It would be fun to have a complete collection of all these old Rocketship designs.

Although, based on the images you have posted,
your main wings appear to be too far aft on the fuselage.
I was actually waiting to see if they get moved forward, but they didn't.

Is it just my eyes?...because they look too far rear to me.

sorry to nitpick...but its only because its a model that interests me!
