District 9 - Dropship

I have been working on this one, on and off, for a while,

Here are some Blender Renders with some textures applied

I started a test build on the main fuselage. I thought it would be reasonably straightforward as it is all flat surfaces. Unfortunately, It ended up rather flimsy and warped.

I tried again with a few internal stiffeners, but it still couldn't get it to assemble cleanly. The next plan is it to break the fuselage down into about six seperate sub assemblies (rather than three) then bring them together.

Thanks Guys, I need to keep the momentum up on this project, otherwise it will just sink down to the depths of my hard drive (again)

So This is the plan:

Main fuselage made up of five blocks...
Glue them together..
Add the cabin area..
Add the Rear 'pod'..
Add engines; landing gear and other details.

I need a little more tinkering on the 3D model, then I can export ; unfold and try again. (4th time lucky)
