Thanks BigPetr :-)

Finished the unfold stage and started texturing the hull. Today the top side. 99% done.

Once all the texturing is done I need to add some dirt and weathering layer for George Lucas famous "used universe" look.

Just noticed that there is a slight similarity between this craft and the one from Buck Rogers in the 25th Century .

Thank you guys!

I have completed the bottom side textures of the hull and will now start to add the dirt/weathering layer and then scale the mode up for 28-30mm minis. So far the model is the 15mm minis version.

This is a first test of the core layer for the big version. I split up the parts on the A4/Letter pages so they can be glued in layers together to form a strong core layer for the model. Here I have used 4 layers of 300gsm paper. After drying ... very stable!

Why? I am missing a joke here I don't get?

Thanks for the Hasbro Images. The model looks a bit crude, right? I think they needed to make some adaptions to make it a safe child toy. They seem to have a compartment at the end that I have not seen yet in my research. Probably to hold batteries.

Anyway, here is my progress:

Both models completed except for engines and landing gear.

The underside of the big one.

And the required engines I have made for the 30mm version.

Here is a little look at the evolution of the engines
First the huge prototypes. Then the small one with first texture try. Then I found some details missing/wrong and corrected them. Then the first big one again has some problems with upscaling of the textured lines (although it has the "engine on" texture version). And finally the first two correct big ones!

Now I need to figure out the mounting of the engines to the hull and then the landing gear. I think the model will be ready for the release

And finally a check to see if the scale looks right. Will Gandalf go into the transporter cabin? Yeah, I think he will!

That reminds me. Maybe I should do an open door version, for the troops to enter and exit? If not now, then as an update a little later
