New York, New York.

This is my first attempt at designing a papercraft, so it WILL be bad.

Years ago, i worked on a game conversion for Total Annihilation, set in space. The model i liked the most was the New York, an artillery frigate. As you can see, the model has lots of holes in it. After filling the gaps and exporting it to Metasequoia for texturing, i took it into pepakura to unfold it: 1, 2, 3.

Next stage was an alpha build: 1, 2. This was just on regular 80g A4 paper and to see if it was actually buildable.

Stage 3 is a textured beta build, with way more detail:

Once i'm done with making the scale cubes i'll make some pictures of the finished beta.

Don't say bad; actually what I see is a great future designer in the making. Looks pretty darn good to me!

Keep it goin'...

That's pretty cool! It looks like something from the late stages of that Empire Earth game that I spent way too much time on a number of years ago. Now you just need some to those odd looking little peasants to go with it!
