Tom Swift Jr. models will be great. I read everyone hour local library had when I was a kid. Read some of the Doc Savage novels. "Doc" Clark Savage Jr. was the first superhero beginning in 1933 pulp novel. Many of his inventions were stolen by Superman, Batman, and a lot of the comic book heros later. His inventions would make great models also.
