Actually, most of the detail will be coming from the textures... And it will be shaded, or to put it in TA terms: Cavedog3D.

Locked textured beta. Would like some feedback/tips on it, please?
Also, which colors would be prefered for a final release? I can get atleast 10 different colors, limited to the logo textures of the game.

Change the blue to white on the surfaces to be glued. It saves ink and glue smears won't be as obvious. Also, a bit of updating and sharpening of the textures wouldn't be a bad idea, either. I don't mean change for the sake of change, I mean try to figure out the artist's intent and create a larger, sharper texture, especially around the tracks.

That's the problem, the textures are really tiny and have a limited color palet. And i'm not skilled enough to create high res versions of about 1000+ textures...
The New York I posted about earlier uses the same textures as the Balamant. After printing, the low res textures aren't too bad.

Hey there legion.. boy I must be really slipping with my PEP versions, I just tried to view your pdo in PEPv2 and it said ~ upgrade to newer version to view..?!?
Btw.. I love TA You mentioned your having problems with the textures? Where did you get them from. ? extracted from the game ? What format are the texture files in .? How are you designing the models ~ what 3D program are you using etc..? what bitmap editor are you using.? whats your mothers maiden name ..? whats your bank account number... lol sorry forget the last two.. If your interested, a bunch of guys did a TA total mod for UT. The textures are Hi res ( sample attached) I haven't got a link handy, I'll see if I can dig it up. They also sent me a couple of their 3D models, ship + thunder + acv ..? PM me an addy and I'll zip some stuff up for you if you want it. Sorry I couldn't view your textured pdo, but the pics looks kewl. TA deserves a bit of attention, so keep up the good work. cheers |

Textures are from the Total Annihilation game, in .bmp format. But because i model in Rhino2, it has no uvw map, and i can't deal with rebuilding it completely in Metaseq... As for bitmap editor, i use PS7, and only to rotate the textures and resave them. I use Pepakura Designer 3.
But i want to keep the OTA look and feel, so blocky textures are fine.
