Lol Dave. In mitigation, my kids and my grandkids...you know what it's like. I can't get them to listen to my stuff, although one of my granddaughters wants me to teach her guitar, so there's hope yet

I wonder if you remember this

I was lucky enough to know someone who had one of these when as I was growing up.

This is what was inside

As for the sixteen stories, well here are the fist four

and the same person has posted the other 12.

I also stumbled across this (though you probably know this already), how they recently made three LP thunderbird stories from 1965 (so original vocies) into three full episodes. Interesting modelling amonst other things in the video

Finally I recently saw an Ondes Martenot being played for the first time and it instantly reminded me of Barry Grays music. This video explains why

Happy memories

Regards

Kevin

Oh brother, takes me back to very very happy days, thanks for all of that. Thanks also for dropping in, nice to see you are still here, I've been away from the forum for a long time. I managed to build the vertical tail today, built at speed to try and avoid any flair ups...got away with just one lol. Keep on keeping on my friend.

OK I'm back to the build. Nothing much to show, but here's the rear section of the hull. I've used 1mm card stock. 3 bulkheads (one internal) I used 7mm balsa wood for those. I was able to wear food prep gloves for this, the size made that possible. This section is 10.5" (26.5cm) long, so will be impressive when complete.

Hey, progress! And a way to make it with the gloves.
I watched the behind the scenes video of the new production, cool stuff, very cool stuff, exceedingly cool stuff.

Yeah I was very excited with the new production of Fireball XL5, what a buzz seeing it for the first time. The team worked long and hard on this, so pleased to know that someone cares enough to do the work. Yes the gloves helped, not be able to use them on the smaller parts though. I will be using other media for the details and that will keep me away from any risks. It's a bugger, but still keeping on keeping on.

A small amount of work done. This is the next part of the main Rocket motor. It's not finished, needs refining then some filler. The olive finishes it off rather well, in fact I think this is what was used on the original.

I wasn't too pleased with the rocket motor as it was. I've remodelled the parts which I think gives a better look. Just a few tweaks and paint for this then I can move onwards.
