I was looking for some reference material (thinking about my own paper version of XL5)
and I came across this guy's pages: Gary Reighn's Fireball XL5 3D Print Files Site

Obviously he is printing the basic parts and then modeling from there.
He is sharing his plans and 3D printing files.
But theres also a nice collection of detail photos.
Looks like a nice model he has built.
Gary Reighn's Fireball XL5 3D Printed Rocket Model Gallery

Looks like hes also got the sled and rail setup, as well as other elements from the show.

Hull section 2 take 2. I found the reduction at the Junior end wasn't enough. I've started the internals using Balsa. This isn't finished and time is thin on the ground...but every little helps. Also added parts to the wings, landing gear covers.

The skin is now on section 2. So then this is how it is... Hull Section 1 = 2" to 2" x 10" Hull Section 2 = 2" to 1.5" x 8.5" Total length without Junior = 18.5"

OK, so started on Junior! The rear bulkhead is oversized to allow for carving and sanding. This is glued up ready for the sanding, filling and more sanding.
