Does anyone know of a good Dalek model?
As a long time Whovian (I was a Whovian BEFORE it was on the misspelled network) I've found it truly frustrating that no one out there seems to have a halfway decent Dalek model. This one, by Paper Pokes :
Paperpokés - Pokémon Papercraft: DALEK is about as good as they get, and the design is just...wrong, unless they're doing one of the new versions from Wales. The joke is there's actually a really good Dalek mutant model: Hellsword Papercraft: Doctor Who Dalek Mutant Papercraft But I haven't had any luck finding a halfway decent model that looks right. So anyone know of anything that's out there? |

Should note that I want one with "bumps" (bonus points if you catch John Cleese reference. Half points if you catch Curse of Fatal Death reference)

Depending on the scale, you might just do the bumps with drops of glue

What about a '70s Cyberman ? Liked them better than the Daleks.

Or one could substitute some sort of small bead, if you could find one approx. the right size...
but I still haven't seen one yet that got even the basic shape right. Which is funny when you look at them and see that they were made with fairly simple shapes. I suppose the reason is that any good model would have to have a lot of parts to model the upper half, with its armor (solar?) panels and multiple rings. The Paper pokes version does actually have "Bumps", btw. Love the Cyberman design from "The Invasion" and "The Revenge of the Cybermen" myself. The clear plastic jaw just messed up the look of the "Earthshock" version. But I haven't seen much Cyberman stuff other than a few helmets. |

I have a desire, and plans, to one day do a miniature Dalek to go with my Tardis.
But it will be KoolWheelz scale...smallish, minimal parts, relying more on 3D surface artwork rather than actual 3D parts. Gotta keep 'em simple! And...I have no idea when I will get to it. So, maybe I shouldn't have even brought it up?! LOL Sorry. Exterminate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you could also use those candy "dots" that come on the paper strip for the dalek bumps.

LSD actually stands for Lysergic Acid Dalek? That explains some of the episodes!
