A Hodgepodge of Enterprise

A couple of weeks ago I set out to build the updated version of Paragon's Enterprise from the new movie. I wound up with little time to work on it, and as I did I also came up with more and more details and modifications. I ended up combining Paragon's model with one released over at Zealot by Rawen, modifying the best parts of each model to fit together. Doing this by hand took a lot of time.

I ended up changing the underside slope of Paragon's secondary hull, and made the whole thing longer so it would have a more accurate length/width ratio. I also thinned the saucer (Rawen's design) and modified the bridge to make it more 3D. I added the 3D structure to the neck (Paragon's), and combined the two designs for the sensor dome underneath the saucer into a new one. The engines/pylons are Rawen's (except the bottom cowling - that's Paragon's) and the impulse drive is Paragon's.

Here are the pictures. This was originally posted at Zealot, but BF109 brought me up to speed with what's been going on and pointed me this direction. So here are the pictures, reposted for all those who have been unfortunately banned. Let me know what you think!

Looks nice! All the extra details you added makes it look fantastic! Pardon my ignorance, but I believe it's the pylons/engines(?) What material is that black sphere made of? [Sorry, not a Trekkie fan]

Thanks! The engines are the cylinders, the pylons are the bits that hold them up. The black spheres are actually marbles I found completely by accident. I had already made the engines and it was sheer luck that they fit perfectly.

Thumbs up

Really nice hodgepodge you got there. I'm an original fan of ST-TOS and this new one is slowly growing on me. Great builds like yours are making that happen.:D

BF109 - thanks for pointing me in this direction.

jacberk - glad my build could help you appreciate this ship a little bit more. Actually after seeing it in the movie it became my favorite. Its sleek, looks fast and powerful, but isn't too over-the-top.

Rawen's prototype Enterprise is available through my site...but there is another thread here that has links to his newly updated model*.

*I have the new model, but don't have it available for download yet.
