More updates on the Dreadnaught. As you can see by now, my verdsion is slightly different from Eli's. He gave me a great base to start with. That hip joint is the weakest part of the dreadnaught, so to make it strong, I heavily laminated the joint and added drilled holes to insert rods/pins. The rods/pins will give the joint strength to handle the table top gaming.

More updates on the build. That rood with the rolled end strip, will go on the dremel on low speed and become a ball joint, but that will be showed in the next upload.

And so the build thread continues. The foot pad template has added tabs which are to be folded underneath the pad template. A wrapped cylinder is made to fit the ball joint. This will allow for better posing . The plans have this section cut at an angle and it would have to be exact to place the legs on the foot pad. With the ball joint, you can place the legs into different poses.

The pads are constructed a bit differently from the plans. The ball joint is better suited for posing the dreadnaught. Not only that, but is more sturdy for constant handling. The hip and leg section is the weakest part of the model. Because of this, I made sure that it is very strong.

More on the Dreadnaught. I could have used electrical wire or thick strings for the hoses but the rolled paper strips came in just fine.

Still working on the Dreadnaught. The hip cable system is attached and will be colored in later. The shoulder weapons attachment point are made from rolled strips of paper and the weapons will attach here. The weapons can be glued in place but if you want, do not glue and you will be able to mount different armaments to the shoulder hard points. The exhaust system is not the same as the GW version for this one. I used the four stacks to make it a bit different. The next update will cover the mounting of the exhaust stacks. The back pack is different from the plans, in that I cut it up into sections and built the box up. The exhaust stacks will go into drilled holes and the whole pack will be very strong because of this. Enjoy and see you all soon with more stuff.

Almost coming to the end of this build thread. I need to get back to that mech and a special build for a Stearman crop duster.
