At-At
Huge AT-AT. From some obscure and totally forgotten movie series. The first one of that obscure and totally forgotten movies series was released 40 years ago this year, so I wanted to make something special and a big AT-AT was it. AT-AT papercraft model was something I have been wanting to do for a some time but I just couldn't find a perfect model to build. This one stands around 70 cm so it's a big one. Original model is made by Noturno & Sukhoi_Scorch. Original model has textures, all though little bit fuzzy ones. I printed my model white and clean without any textures. I cut and glued the textures on top the model to create little bit depth and make it seems like there is armor plating on it. It created a nice effect to the model. Fun project.
Little video of this model with some build photos: https://youtu.be/GAwdkzfvbSQ |

Very nice. I hope that if you have pets or kids, that they will leave it alone

Oh I DO want to build this - just downloaded the file. But it's just too big (showed the missus your pics of the fully built model - and got a no.) I'll keep the file though, maybe one day.
Will you be colouring the model - the hours/days of fun weathering the beast ! You'll have to do a scale Snowspeeder to accompany it - joined by tow line.

Thank you all. I don't think I would have even started this model if we had a cat or youngster running around. It would have been history in fifteen seconds.
I sure got plenty of odd looks when I was working with this and questions like so how big is this thing actually when it is finished... I'm thinking about the weathering yes. I dunno when I have the time to do that and there's plenty more papercrafts projects to do. Yeah properly scaled Snowspeeder is a must to do for this beast. |

I downloaded that model in both the 35 and 70 size. Seems like the same model, just doubled.
Aside from the poor quality textures on it, the reason I decided not to bother was the very low-poly effect used for the "round" parts. Most of them could have easily been done with smooth curves instead. I'd still like to find a better AT-AT model. I built an AT-ST but I wasn't satisfied with my work and tossed it after it fell one to many time. |
