I have to say, I don't see how this conversation will ever get back to Heavy Gear. :D

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! I'd pay money to see all 5 seconds of that! Just to enjoy the silence and absence of bad puns afterwards.
As for those who have played too much, I too played too much, although I still have all my minis, and wouldn't mind the occasional game now and then. We did heavily modify the rules though. Piloting skill rolls were almost never used. If they were, it was a "Roll 1D6. on a roll of 4-6, he makes it, on a roll of 1-3 he doesn't. Good 50-50 odds. As for heat, we started designing all our mechs so thye could jump, fire everything, and still have the heat go down to zero, so heat wasn't a factor. It made the game go a lot faster. I also got into making wargames terrain so I didn't have to deal with the dippy mapsheets. Ahhh, the happy times. . . . K'Jev |

I think that not only would the Gears make great models but their module like construction would be great for creating pretty much all the variants.
I have many of the books. I could post up some references if the images do not already exist. |
