Question Heavy Gear Models in Existence?

I've been watching the "Heavy Gear" cartoon series in YouTube. Ok, the dialogue bites, the plots are about as deep as your average mud puddle, and the announcer character really ought to suffer a fatal accident.

I admit, I'm more of a Battletech/Mechwarrior type: 100 tons of steel and guns, some jump jets, and I'm a pretty happy camper.

But I got to thinking: Are there any Heavy Gear models in existence? I know Dream Pod 9 has the "Barnaby Gear Transport" downloadable as a gaming aid, but do any 1:48 scale gear models exist?

Everything I've seen for "Heavy Gear" and "Gear Krieg" has come from the Dream Pod 9 site.

There is one... I tried to find it but it's not coming up at this time.

I think it was just a Hunter.

I do have the Hunter. I was just wondering if there were more out there. I'm currently toying with a cross-universe campaign where a Battletech Unit dukes it out with a Heavy Gear unit. . . .

A Battlemech lifts it"s foot. It drops it's foot. Game over :P

Yeah Getter, but you're forgetting, Gear's are small and quick. It would look like an elephant trying to step on a mouse! It's just not gonna happen with a giant lumbering behemoth like a battlemech.:p

Just to jump in the argument (since A: It was inevitable, and B: I started it),

Range of a Battlemech's Gauss Rifle (aka Railgun): 0-200 meters, per the game rules.

Range of a Heavy Gear Railgun: 40 meters, per the game rules.

And having played both Mechwarrior IV and Heavy Gear II, I can honestly say the 'mechs take damage better.

Of course, one does have to hit the little buggers. . . .

And yes, Von Maddox of Heavy Gear will be a casualty in this campaign!

I'd have to agree with Getter and Kjev. The Battlemech is a war machine, the Gear is a Sport Utility Vehicle. A weaponized one, but an SUV nonetheless. Take a Star of one Mad Cat, a couple Warhammers, and two Locusts, and I can pretty much guarantee any lance of Gears will be a grease smear and several burnt, un-recognizable pieces in about . . . 30 seconds. :D

Kjev, you don't even really have to hit them. Send a salvo of LRMs, say about 6, in the general direction of the Gear. Spash damage tears out some of the gearing systems, but it's still got some get-up. Then send in the scout 'Mechs armed with machine guns and maybe a Clanner autocannon to finish them off. I'd like to see a Gear try to outrace a Locust or Flea.

Five words: Natasha Kerensky versus Von Maddox

I have played Battletech WAY too much in my day.

Those days are over and I have to say it was a horrible set of game rules.

I too am guilty of playing way too much battletech in my day as well, but I am sorry to say I LOVED the rules for the game, really something to sink your teeth into. :D
