A little WIP pic. I am almost done finalizing all the parts. Only the gunner hatch assembly and the landing gear is missing. Once I have that I need to work on a inner rib structure to make the hull a little sturdier. And then I can do the final build, instructions and release. Hopefully in time with the new movie coming. If not, it should not be more than a couple of days.

Great looking model.
Now for an odd observation. The way it is positioned in that last pic. It kind of resembles the SDF-1 from Macross/Robotech.

As Don said above, I think at least one inspiration of this ships was the WW2 landing craft https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landing_craft but who knows. I did not know the SDF-1 and I can also see some similarities now

Thank you very much The only thing I have not tackled yet are chipped of parts in the texturing. Have to see if I can squeeze that in before release.

I don't have experience with lighting a model but I think there is enough space even when I do the interior for the open front door version. This model would look great with the front and side lights ... well light up :-)

Anyone have experience with this? Don't even know what to look for in shops. I am guessing LED lights?

Last year, I think it was Billy, did a lighted 1/12 scale Apollo capsule. And yes, LED are the way to go because they are cool temperature. Even the tiny incandescent bulbs of rice grain and smaller sizes used in model train things can become very warm after not all that much time.

Thanks. I will go check out local hobby shops and see if this has arrived in the old world yet :-)
