models from video game ELITE/ toudi sk/ 1: 300/ 3000/ 6000

Hi, I will try make some models from an old video game ELITE from BBC computer version.

I´m used Sketchup to create 3D models and Flattery plugin and Pepakura Designer to unfolding and create model pieces.

At first I will modelling Coriolis stations CUBE, DODO* and ICO**

* 12 faces dodecahedron
** 20 faces icosahedron

I have finally started make PYTHON as cutout model.

Simple shapes, no problem... I meant, but no. :-)
Rotating model in game menu (white model) have slightly another shape, as in the game itself (gray model).





Black color with white lines 1mm wide.





The model does not look so bad at last. :-)

first "notsogoodattempt" to create ANACONDA, a bit weird shape (or sketch is out of reality)






unfold and start to build DODO station in scale 1:3000, or print 11 + 1 pages

this station I glue together with flap on the flap style, now looks like a salad bowl :-)




and the 3D fleet is still growing

DODO station almost finished, I must only to do something with the last side, because of his size, I want that model make like a transport box.





Meanwhile, I'm preparing other models to unfold in pepakura.
