1:18 Scale AT-AT 0-=

After building http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/sf-papercraft/sf/at-at.html
My wife foolishly suggested I could build a large scale version in plywood for a yard decoration for next Christmas.
If Wookiepedia is to be believed, the original size of an AT-AT is ~74Ft tall
In Kenner toy scale of 1:18 that comes in at just over 4Ft tall.
Presuming SF-Papercraft is 1:144, then it looks like I need to print it at 8X size. Of course I'll be simplifying greatly like using buckets for feet and flat painted panels rather than details.

Maybe I'll go ahead and build the rest of the YT-1300 freighter to go with the cockpit UHU02 designed (-=

Cheers,

John Gay

Tell her you need to do a snow speeder to go with it, too.

Sounds like a great project, though

So I printed another set of SF-Papercraft sheets and measured and multiplied by 8 and I've got a 6 foot tall AT-AT that is nearly 6Ft 9in long. decent size for a yard decoration even if it's not exact scale.

If I could only convince my wife to let me do something like that...

Maybe it's better to ask forgiveness that to ask permission?

An AT-AT strolling the Christmas Village. Very nice.

I thought I was doing good with the blue velociraptors wearing santa hats and scarves.

Merry Christmas to you, as well

You know of course, that if the Rebels get wind of this they'll mount a raid aimed at destroying the thing before it can be assembled.
Better double the guard.
