Template: UHU02.
Completed dimensions: Length 46 cm ; Wingspan 21 cm.

The model was built completely 'out of the box', with the exception of a few small modifications ....

To save on cost, I printed the model, on the back of another printed no-longer needed template, on A4 160gsm.

A cautionary note on paper weight/thickness..... The model designer incorporates the paper THICKNESS into his designs. His design tolerances are tight, especially in this model. As stated, I used 160gsm stock, which turned out to have a thickness of 0.16 mm. The design requires a paper thickness of 0.21 mm. The discrepancy caused a few fit issues in this build.
A digital vernier caliper helps here, when selecting your stock!!

I did not include the complex interior associated with the design, as once completed it is mostly invisible, and to see the interior you would need to touch the model ...
Maybe I will use the leftover parts for the interior as a cut-away version in the future........

I started off with the exterior of the cabin section, as per the instructions.....


Form the cabin shell before cutting out the window sections, also make sure that the window sections are flat, straight and true to the former when attached. This is important for when the windows are fitted, so they will look good.


The window sections... Nothing special here, apart from good folding technique. Just keep everything square and true...


The wing frames and associated fuselage section, were constructed next.
Here, I made a modification; I did not like the supplied stand, and would rather have a thin support rod instead. The available rod I had on hand fitted snugly into an ink pen tube. The parts were strengthened with thick card, holes were punched in the fuselage and wing section to fit the tube, assembled and hot glued into place. The model is, in this way, removable from the display rod!
