I tried to build this one, without resizing anything, and the cockpit doorway was slightly too small.

Just curious if anyone else had this problem, or am I doing something wrong?

Check the print settings. Often printers will shrink the image to fit the page, and it will lead to undersized models. If you un-select this option when you print it, it will probably print to the correct size. I'd still double-check by printing the door as a test anyway, and if it's still not right I'd mess with the scale a bit until it's correct.
