X-wing RED 2 / Imcold / 1:48

I am building X-wing paper model in 1:48 scale designed by Imcold. It can be downloaded here: X-wing paper model - About

As I build I am doing some modifications and addons to this already great model to make it as close as possible to A New Hope movie RED 2 X-wing version. All current modifications can be downloaded here: X-wing RED 2 (designed by Imcold) extension

I retextured and detailed cockpit to match the movie:

I added more greebles to droidplate ....

... and backplate.

Fantastic job, I can notice you use laser printer, I use to recommend to aply a matt spray on the printed sheet before cuting parts to avoid miss color when modeling clothes, but I like your result re coloring after, what did you use? paint or marc pens?

Thank you, it is pleasure to build, your design is great.

It is laser print. I decided to omit matt spray before cutting, bacause I wett soaked everey cloth part before apply to simplify manipulation and wrinkle creation.

For coloring I use this cheap basic water colours:

I am not so satisfied how I did trousers, they are still little to baggy

Now I am experimenting with papermache technique for cloth over your base body to achieve finer folds on cloth. I use thin paper napkins and results seams promising. Of course it is not possible to print on napkins, so it must be colored completely with colours. I must try acrylic colors bacause water colors make napkin little transparent. Will post pictures of the result.

How do you make head smooth? I do not have any idea how to smooth steps on head.

I think it looks great... VERY realistic. The suit is SUPPOSED to be a little baggy...

If you were doing, say, Wilma Deering from "Buck Rogers" on the other hand... baggy would definitely NOT be appropriate... LOL
