Roci build No. 3....

Oops. It should say "Roci build No. 3." Darn auto-correct....

Just finished season 2 of "The Expanse" (there's a cool cameo by Adam Savage in the last episode...) and so here is my third build of Michael Grosberg's fine design of the Rocinante.

His model comes in 1/100th scale, but for this build, I shrunk it to 1/144th. The model builds into a fine replica off the page, but I added some panel detail and the battle-damage repair patches we saw on the Roci after it got shot up in the raid on Eros.

I also scribed and folded the lengthwise panels on the nozzle for Epstein Drive to give it the faceted look of the "real" vehicle.

Got my model done just in time for season 3....

Dude... as much as I'm flattered that you've built this model for the third time... at some point you need to admit that you have a problem

JK, really cool version, *applause*

Problem?!? But... But... But.... There are all sorts of other scales! 1/72nd! 1/96th! 1/288th!

I think I got it out of my system with this build. My obsession was looking for a scale I liked; 1/100th was too big for my limited display space, and 1/200th seemed too small. I think 1/144th was perfect for me.

And, yeah, I'll be moving on. Already have the next project planned, starting next week. Will be returning to Real Space....
