Hi James!

Honest opinion? The hull looks good, but the ring is a disaster!

Really? Aside from one area where an edge got warped, I thought it looked pretty good.

What does it need?

Exclamation

Wow! two accomplished and skilled designers honestly discussing the betterment of a model without falling all over themselves to avoid hurting feelings AND showing a cooperative and effective willingness to improve the final product?

Someone save this thread...

So besides the ring, I've pretty much fixed the rest of the model for release. I've decided to get rid of the blue tint on the edges, and include the flat coils, but I still think the ring looks alright already.

Well Enlgish isn't D-Whale's primary language, skipping the pleasantries and being as straightforward as possible facilitates easier discussion.

Yes, I made the 1:1700 version first and then scaled it down to 1:1900 for my build.

I don't remember which Enterprise I used, but I'm sure you can figure out from the files:

As you can tell, only two parts needed to be changed, just substitute them for the others.

Haha, ok I get it, Sh'Ran and Shran isn't that interesting. Anyway, the kit is pretty much done now, I've fixed the ring colors and added the second ring option. I also added the "knob" on the bottom of the ring.

Release should be tonight, soon (unless D-Whale clarifies the problems with the ring and its not what I thought). Once it's uploaded, I plan to move right along to the Vulcan shuttle from Ent (with an annular warp drive like the Sh'Ran's), since I have the most reference images for it. The ship is about 35m long (compared to the Danube class at 20m) so it really could be its own class of ship instead of just a shuttle, but 35m is a little too small for 1:1700 and 1:1900 (though I might try driving myself insane with a build at that scale) so I'm going to aim for 1:150 (~23cm long), to go along with the rest of my "auxilliary craft" collection.

After that, maybe the T'Plana Hath, or the Suurok (Surak), or maybe even the T'Pau. What would you all like the most of those three?
