Smile Alliance Assault Shuttle

Hello friends!

Another simple Star Wars non canon model: The Alliance Assault Shuttle, extracted direct from X Wing Alliance PC Game...

Model build in three hours. Is very close to old Galactica TV Series Colonial Transport Shuttle.

Another nice build Pericles!

* It does look like the BSG shuttle... both ships remind me of a trusty old Volkswagon combi van..

Very nice! It almost sort of reminds me of the old "Space Academy" series from the early 70s. (OK, I was 3, but it still stuck with me)

Ugh.. those were the bane of my XvT and XWA existence! Tough things with auto-turbolasers that shot you to pieces if you even thought about attacking them.

Nice, clean build!

Although, I must disagree with the BSG shuttle comparison. Only the front end really resembles them, and the lower fins/strakes really change how it stands out.

One thing I liked with the move from XvT to XWA was the removal of those 5-sided turbolasers that rotated all the time on capital ships. I wasn't sure why they didn't also make the change on the shuttles, which retained the old XvT turrets.

Oh, and speaking of assault shuttles, ironically enough I always thought THIS one looked like a cylon raider from the front!
