Thanks, Ray. Friction - they're a snug fit.

Hey, thank you, Sergio. Well, all the pieces that were necessary to complete the right side of the tank were on the 2nd parts page, so I wrapped up that subassembly, and glued it to the hull. All the layering is what really makes these models stand out -a wonderful series of kits by Vadim Davydkov.

All the 40K models I see are fascinating. As already stated the detail and weathering are always so well done.
Are these built to use in the 40K gaming system?

Thanks Chris, I was inspired by your 40K modelling. Yes Joe, they are designed at 1/60 scale to match the models in the gaming system. I shrink mine (89.14%) to fit on letter sized paper, so they're a little smaller, but no less fun to build. I doubt very much that Game$ Work$hop would allow them in "official" table top game play, though. Actually, I'm a bit surprised that they haven't filed a cease and desist order against Vadim by now.

I have also heard that in "official" games, you can't use anything other than "official" models. But then again, you can't use placeholders (ie. a lunchbox for a land raider) either, and even unpainted models are a no-go.

Most local friendly gaming stores bend those rules, so I'm sure you can use these if you wanted to.

As for GW not going after Vadim, I guess it is because (a) building one of his designs can take a long time, and (b) it makes them look bad. They've kind of softened on their hard handed approach from a couple of years ago.

As long as he doesn't sell his designs, he is ok.
