This is outstanding work Cheesy! You mention using Blender to model, what are you using to unwrap? Pepakura?

Looking very good.
I admire people who can 3d design unfolde and build these complicated models.
3d design is something I could just never get a "feel" for.

That is what I originally planned to use, however Paperschnitzel directed me to a plugin that can be applied to Blender that then allows you to export directly from Blender. It's a fantastic add on and has made thing so much easier. Beyond that I use a free .PDF to .JPG that I found here

https://pdfresizer.com/jpg-to-pdf

I then use Paint Shop Pro to do any final tweaks or adjustments to the developments before using pdfresizer to convert back to .PDF

That's the main engine parts, it doesn't include some of the detail parts which I am still working on but for the most part I don't see these main parts changing on the final model. I've included a blender image of how the parts fit together in one of my earlier posts.

Starting to get towards the end of prototype build. Have managed to get some of the engine details on the model, the front coms module is now on and have done a bit of messing around with what I think I will use for the comms arrays. For now they are wooden skewers that I've used a felt tip marker to colour in black, the final model will most likely use toothpicks as the skewers are a bit to thick but it's something I'll need to consider.

I've also gotten round to designing a stand for the model, but haven't built it yet. Last few bits to go on the model yet, the bow caps, the reverse thrusters, the new railgun mounts and of course the two railguns and then the real fun starts. Texturing the model...

...the fun bit?

The prototype is almost finished. A little more progress and only a few more things left to do.

Have added the bow details, lets call them the shoulder pads, to the front main section of the ship as well as the reverse thrusters. I've also added the new thinner longer rain gun mounts and attached them in their new final position which is a little further forward than the older versions. I've also mocked up some stands for the model. I may or may not go with these designs for the final model. I'll just have to come up with a nameplate design for them.

So what's left?

The engine bells, the design is finished I just need to add them and see how they look and those awesome railguns.

So what's left
