The sculptural elements raise this model to another level. Excellent work.

Thanks Don, very kind of you.

I'm at the stage where I want to start priming the model, so I've taken a bunch of pictures to capture the final bare construction phase.

The only thing missing is the mounting bracket for the in-flight base; I'm waiting for the acrylic rod I ordered before I attempt to finish this off.

Amazing! That thing is a beast. I am envious of your ability to carry a large project all the way to completion. I would have burned out long ago. Top shelf modeling.

BTW, I took the liberty of posting your pics in several FB forums. May want to see their reaction:

Thanks Sergio & Chris, very kind words!

Thank you Don, yes it is quite the beast. Pretty heavy, with all the layering. It's been a long road so far, yet there is so much variation in the work it didn't feel all that tedious.

Thanks Bill, that is some very encouraging response
I saw your chat with Alex Belyaev: if he is not the original designer, who is?

Small update, while I wait for the right evening to take the bird outside and prime her (I have no spray booth, unfortunately).
