Well, I have been watching this, and I must say you have done exceptionally well with all the various workarounds.
It is really going to look great when it is finished.....

Cockpit detailing
Quote:
Case in point, here is what I was working on tonight: The front sensor module The cockpit Top view of the control panel. The cockpit frame is still detached; I need it so that I can do a proper paint job before closing it up. Looks like the pilot left his lunch on the dash. There's some corn, some green beans. Some ketchup. Yum. The cockpit looks to be the right scale. I should be able to fit a pilot in there This guy wants the pilot's leftovers. |

Internal greeblies
Added more internal greeblies. Again, these are all done on separate removable (for now) panels. Once done, I can paint them easily, and then install them permanently in the hull.
Here is the ladder to get to the top hatch, and some detailing of the hatch. It will later be mounted on a hinge, like the rear ramp. The current view from the rear hatch: The view from the starboard ball turret port: And the view from the port ball turret port: (Of course, these will be covered up by the ball turrets once those are done...) Here is the interior panels removed and laid flat, to show the details: And here is the current parts of the model: |

Super interior and cockpit. You're really going above and beyond on this one.

Thanks Floogen! I'm glad you like it. Hopefully it paints up well too.
Haha! Well spotted townsman, it's a little easter egg... Not sure how it fits into the 8th edition ruleset. Maybe you use it to "fix" the bad move you made a couple of turns ago? :p |

Hinges
Added the functioning hinge and external parts of the top hatch. The hinge is made from some thicker electrical wire that I run through a short piece of cotton swab cutoff.
Replaced the skew rear ramp with a much better version, plus hydraulics. The hydraulic arm is made from a toothpick running inside a lollipop sleeve. The interior modelling is almost finished, then I can slap some paint on it and finish it off. |
