WH40K Baneblade tank build
Hello all,
I've recently started building the Baneblade tank paper model from Warhammer 40K. I usually build plastic models but have done a few paper models in recent times. I'm a slow builder, so I will post progress pics as and when I can squeeze in some build time I'm starting off with the chassis first, then followed by wheels and tracks, followed by the turret. Comments, advice are most welcome! Thanks Alan |

Here are some pictures of the chassis build. It's heavily laminated so as to withstand handling, and I use foamboard to help stiffen the structure.
Next up is the engine compartment. Even though its more work, I decided to cut out the grills as I think they look better that just being printed on. I also modified the hinges, as I found the original hinges looked too flat, and I wanted it to look more realistic. I cut up strips of paper, and rolled them up, then squeezing both sides of the roll with my fingers to get that 'hump' shape of the grills. |

For the other engine cover, it had a lot of grills over it (part 17 in the picture), so I decided to cut the whole rectangle out, and glue in individual grills, and used the same method of hinges mentioned in the previous post for the cover.

Just realized that I may have had to post this in 1 of the sub-forums. Do I need to move this to one of the sub-forums?
If so, can any administrator move this thread to a correct sub-forum? Not sure if its either "Armor" or "Alternate Dimensions"? Thanks Alan |

Hi Floogen, I'm really glad you moved your thread here; I rarely read the other forums, and it is great to see the progress that you have made here! I love the fine work you are putting into cutting out all the grill vents, and the hinges look absolutely fantastic!

Impressive work. I wish my poor attempts looked half as good!! I'll be following your build.
