Thank you very much chaps!

The photos of the drop-ship build process had to be binned as I couldn't upload them. However, this is the progress so far.

1. Main body and rear engine pod.

2 and 3 extensive heavy card reinforcement to give some structure.

4. complex curves!

Yes folks, this is as difficult as it looks. The instructions only give an indication of where to put the parts and not the sequence. However, the design is very well executed. every part fits snugly just where it should. I strted at the front and worked my way back, taking care that each joint was secure before moving to the next.

Stay tooned

Thanks Don. Progressing some of the base units. Easy peasy for a change.

Nice work! That complicated dropship body came out very well.

I admire you work on the drop ship. I think I've attempted to build it more than 4 times, each time resulting in failure. A building schedule would be a help, to know in what order it is put together. I'll maybe try a build again at some time.

Cheers gang!

work on the Drop-Ship is almost done. Just the undercarriage, ramp and weapon pods to fit

Sub-components so far;

Main Body complete.....at last. This was particularly intricate.

The undercarriage legs are being prototyped from looly sticks at the moment, but we'll see how that goes.

Stay tooned.

Hi all,

Some more wip on the Drop-ship

All of the main components assembled. Jan's design allows for major sub-assemblies which all come together at the end.

I have added some small air-scoops to the tops of the engine intakes from spare printed parts. These are apparent from pictures of the studio models. under the nose is the rotary cannon from paper lolly stick.

The weapon pods have some extra layers added to beef them up and will be fitted after the undercarriage is in place.

Undercarriage next.

Moving along nicely with the scratch built undercarriage struts.

Using the printed parts as templates for the strut lengths.

Positioning. The loose struts will be attached when the legs are fixed to the body.

Colouring was achieved with a silver sharpie and a Pitt marker.

Stay tooned.
