Jan Rukr's Aliens dio

Hello all,

Been working on a new project for a while now. I started with the APC from the film Aliens and it turned out to be such an enjoyable build that I decided to go with the rest of the goodies published by Jan.

This is the state of play so far. The basic body shell was reinforced with cereal packet card. Two copies were printed and I used the second copy for cutting out various panels, such as doors and grills etc., for greebling. Some additional bits were added from layers of grey board and plastic rod and tube.

Will be attaching wheels and bits and bobs next. Landing pad printed and ready to start.

All the best and happy modeling

Bernie

P.S. Can anyone tell me what scale this diorama is in, I couldn't find any reference to it on Jan' site.

If you are doing the LV426 dio, i believe the scale is around 1:148 or something like that

Edit,
Quote:
The model is easy to build: 56 parts is not too much.:o).
This is 1st part of the LV426 colony complex diorama.
The Module is not too hard = is easy to build, but large parts.
Level of laboriousness is 2/5 then .
And..sure it is in 1:148 scale....
So happy building ..my first structure...

Resize them to 1024 or 1280 pixels wide using xnview or a similar program? Your pictures are huge (3096 x 4128 pixels for those I can see) which let us admire your craftmanship but makes them quite heavy. Maybe you've reached the weight/size limit for the forum's software?T

Use 'Post Reply' or 'Go Advanced', and then add your images as attachments (the paperclip). 3096 X 4128 is too big

Thanks for the tips guys. Have adjusted the camera settings so we'll so how this one goes.

Huzzah! it worked!

Anyway here are the images of the completed APC. Inside has been heavily reinforced with 0.5mm board and the exterior greebled with extra layers. Gun barrels etc. are from plastic tubing.

I have made a start on the dropship and will post photos of this soon.

Bfn!
