Looks like you are getting into pieces that are models unto themselves

Lots of detail

It looks great, nice work here.

These two rods on canon body are not in the template. I used wires to make them because they are round on the original. But you can deffinitely do them from thin paper strips, but it will be delicate work.

I'm fine with wires too. How did you color them white? Permanent marker?

I did not. I left all wires (I also did lots of them on engines) without color. It is not accurate but it gives a nice touch and feels more "real" to me.

When I need to color wires I use mainly acrylic colors. I have cheap set from supermarket. Permanent marker is great idea, I must try that.

Right. Metal wire can look cool too.

I was thinking of white markers because I use a lot of markers for edging.

@bigpetr, that does look really good. I mostly use non-stripped wire in my scratchbuilding, so it is still covered in the vinyl/plastic covering. Since I paint my models, instead of using the printed paper itself, that is ok. But this is certainly a technique to keep in mind. Cheers

That's a right good looking engine, bare metal wires work well on it. I wonder if they would work as well visually if the engine casing were a more vivid hue.

One day I might try your crazy detailed expansion kits Impressive look! Just don't forget to turn the smoldering iron to cool settings on the paper model

For now I will continue with the basic one. Challenging enough for me!!!
