WH40K Inquisitor's mobile field office

The T-7C carrier was a recent addition to Patoroch's ever growing line of WH40K vehicles. In addition to the tracked flat bed carrier, the kit included a choice of 3 modules that could be mounted to the vehicle. One of them, with its arches, rose windows, and stylized gargoyles was reminiscent of a gothic cathedral, and I automatically thought of the Emperor's Holy Orders of the Inquisition - specifically the Ordo Hereticus which is responsible for guarding the souls of humanity, and ferreting out heresy and corruption at all levels. Reporting directly to the Emperor, the Inquisitor's power is nearly absolute, and they are dreaded and feared throughout the Imperium of Man. The personalities of individual Inquisitor's vary widely, from secretive and monk-like ascetics to others who advertise their presence with flamboyance.

I reasoned that Inquisitors might need a mobile field office, hence this model. Ascetism is a bit boring, so I decided to go with flamboyant, and wound up with a vehicle that looks like a gypsy circus wagon on steroids.

As I've come to expect with Patoroch kits, the fit of the parts was excellent throughout. The most difficult part of the assembly was properly mating up the steps and railings - everything else was cake. I used Photoshop to texture the white model, and grabbed some graphics from the internet: the insignia of the ecclesiasty on the canopy over the porch, the icon of the Inquisition on the front of the cab, and the fleur de lis insignia of the Adepta Sororitas (Battle Sisters) on the hull side. The Adepta Sororitas was the only armed force that could be utilized by the Inquisition.

Well, on to the fun stuff - the photos.

Amazing work Don! Love the flamboyance! And the build is awesomely neat and tidy, as usual.

The handrails on the back, plus the arches, seem to be made from single thick sheets of paper? Do you print directly onto thicker card / paper? How do you color the cut edges?

Thanks, fellers! Chris, the arches and handrails are doubled 110lb card stock. Only the base skins on this model are single thickness paper. Everything else is either doubled, or laminated to .05mm cardboard. Primarily, I color the edges using an inexpensive child's water color set. I used the black up long ago, and refill the little disc as needed from a tube of Grumbacher water color. In addition, sometimes I color the edges with Crayola water color markers, or occasionally acrylic paints.

Fantastic piece of work. And flamboyant is 40K. Please build some more vehicles to match.

Looks good and sinister.
I need to break out my copy of the Malleus Maleficarum.

Many thanks for your kind comments, gents. I really enjoyed this build. As much as I love historical subjects, sometimes it's nice to just let your imagination run wild.
